Ray Seal retired, 30 June 2011

Ray Seal retired as Lay Pastor of the Framlingham congregation on 30th June and his wife Sheila retired as Secretary to the Framlingham Trustees. The Framlingham Trustees held a special lunch in honour of them both on the 30th. Rev Cliff Reed gave a tribute to Cliff extolling his virtues as a preacher and pastor and serving the congregation so well. Chair of the Trustees, Martin Gienke, thanked Sheila and Ray for their stalwart efforts in renovating the Unitarian Meeting House, seeing to the detail work, negotiating with the architect and all the necessary background work to see it through to its successful conclusion. They were both presented with cheques and good wishes for their future.
Annual General Meeting, Saturday 24 September 2011
At 2 pm at Unitarian Meeting House, Churchgate Street, Bury St Edmunds, followed by public lecture by Unitarian historian Alan Ruston "On being a Dissenter in 1711". This refers to the opening of the Bury St Edmunds Meeting House in 1711 and the beliefs and practices of dissenters at that time. The text can be found here

Development Day, Saturday 12 March 2011
From 1.30pm to 3.45pm at Ipswich Meeting House. Catherine Robinson gave a talk on how the Oxford congregation manages without a minister. There was a discussion on how the congregations within the Eastern Union manage now and their aspirations and expectations for the future. Catherine is Pulpit Secretary of the Manchester College Chapel Society which meets weekly in the chapel of Harris Manchester College in Oxford.
