Bardic Chairs

The oldest chair dates from the Pwllheli Eisteddfod in 1907 and has significant carvings of acorns and leaks. There is also an inscription - "Y Gwir Yn Erbyn y Byd" which translates as "Truth Against the World".

The other chair is from the "1909 Eisteddfod Temlwyr Da Llynlleifiad" - "The 1909 Good Templar Eisteddfod, Liverpool". The chair was gifted to Graig Chapel in 1946 by Mr Llanorfab Jones and I believe his first name is his poet's pseudonym. There is an inscription that reads "Gorau Arf, Arf Dysg" - "The best weapon is education".
