ASYLUM SUCCESS!
Leave to remain for Abdoulaye and Taha
ABDOULAYE DIABATE AND TAHA GHASEMI
GRANTED LEAVE TO REMAIN IN THE UK
Just to let you know that Abdoulaye Diabate obtained discretionary leave to remain in the
UK in August 2012.
Our legal appeal was not initially successful but was reversed following a review of his
case. Both men were represented by Latitude Law: www.latitudelaw.com
The decision in favour of Abdoulaye Diabate follows the successful outcome for Taha
Ghasemi, in May and shows what is possible.
We give thanks to all who have supported both Taha and Abdoulaye; this includes Derek
McAuley and individual members and congregations of the General Assembly of Unitarian
and Free Christian Churches. Thanks and acknowledgements are gratefully given to supporters
who are not members of our church. The campaign also enjoyed the support of the
Oldham Advertiser, the Oldham Evening Chronicle, Debbie Abrahams MP and Michael
Meacher MP.
