Rainbow Group visit to Chatham
Rainbow, the District's group for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Unitarians, has been touring the district this year. In order to raise our visibility, and also to make it easier for people who don't live in London to attend our meetings, we have been joining congregations across the LDPA for their regular Sunday service before holding a discussion meeting about spiritual and religious issues for LGBT people.
In May, we will be visiting Chatham Unitarians, with the generous support of their leader, Beryl Paine. We will join them for the service at 3:30 on 20th May, and will then stay for a discussion led by Yvonne Aburrow on the issue of LGBT people in Religion and Myth. Yvonne is a wonderful speaker and has published widely on related issues, so we are looking forward to a great session - doubtless to be followed by a visit to a local hostelry...
Details of the venue can be found at www.ukunitarians.org.uk/chatham
For more information about Rainbow, please visit our website at www.unitarian.org.uk/rainbow or, if you're on Facebook, you can find us there!

LDPA District Summer Quarterly, Lewes
The LDPA District has accepted the kind invitation of Westgate Chapel in Lewes to hold our Summer Quarterly in their beautiful meeting house on the High St. The Chapel has historic associations with Thomas Paine, who lived next door for a while and attended the chapel and who was one of the leading authors of American independence. Lewes itself is a delightful town with many points of interest, including the nearby castle, Glyndebourne on the outskirts and lots of fascinating independent shops, and the Chapel features a fine organ which is now computerised to play the hymns in Sing Your Faith.
The full programme for the day is still in the planning stages, but will include a service led by Rev. Andie Camper, the minister associated with Westgate Chapel, time to explore the chapel and the town, and time also to network with each other and enjoy the congregation's hospitality. Put the date in your diary now, and plan to be part of the day.
Lewes is easily accessible by train. Parking can be a challenge.
