With a heavy heart I am sorry to announce that all public worship at Dunham Road Unitarian Chapel, Altrincham and Queens Road Unitarian Free Church, Urmston will have to be put on hold while we are asked to practice social distance (I prefer to call it physical as we can still be social in different ways). We will be endeavouring to develop alternative ways to serve the needs of our communities and of course our wider community. We will stay connected and take care of our spiritual, emotional and midful needs, feeding the heart, mind, spirit and soul. We may not be able to be physically near but we can connect in other ways. Our branches may not touch, but our roots will hold each other close so that our wings can still be free, serving in all the ways we can, finding meaning in this tragic situation. Sue and myself will be delivering posies, tealights and a copy of the service we have created and were going to share on Sunday. Our first service together as husband and wife. As a community we will then find new ways to share worship and devotional material with our congregations and the wider community. I have much to learn re technology and am asking for help and advice here. Any help would be gratefully received. We are all in this together. No one can doubt that now. We will also be putting together pastoral teams to keep us all connected and are endeavouring to find ways to connect with those in isolation and at times afraid. We all need to be creative during this difficult time Let us hold one another in love. Ok not with our physical hands and arms, but with put hearts, minds, spirits and souls…Held together by one eternal and loving hand of life… We love you all, every single beautiful one of you. You may not be able to come together as you, exactly as you in this moment, but you can be who you are, exactly as you in this moment…No doubt none us will leave in exactly the same condition…
