Unitarians in Wales
There are 22 Unitarian Congregations in Wales. Thirteen are Welsh
speaking Congregations in Ceredigion , situated between Lampeter and
Llandysul and towards Aberaeron. There are seven located in different
communities in the South East of Wales - at Wick in the Vale, Nottage,
Trebanos, Aberdare and Cefncoed as well as congregations at both
Cardiff and Swansea. There is also a Congregation at Carmarthen - and
in Bangor , the only one in the north of Wales.
Unitarian Welsh Department
All the congregations belong to the General Assembly of Unitarian and
Free Christian Churches which is represented in Wales by the Unitarian
Welsh Department Committee.
The Welsh Department serves as a link between the London based
Headquarters at Essex Hall and the Welsh Congregations and takes on
such matters as outreach, publications, ministry training, youth work
as well as acting as a link between the two Unitarian Districts, the
one in South East Wales and the other taking in the Welsh speaking
congregations in West Wales.
